Back in 2005, I walked out of Red Lobster to find a nice big dent in the side of my car, put there by an unknown neighbor in a city I had just moved to. As a recent addition to the area, I didn’t have a “go to” body shop and didn’t have a clue where to start.
With seafood still fresh in my stomach, I drove around aimlessly looking for a decent body shop until I finally stumbled upon three. The first estimate I got was $300. The second was $800 and the third was a whopping $1200. $1200!!! How could there be such a difference in price for the exact same repair? Needless to say, I got it fixed for $300. It looked great, but I never forgot how unhappy I was with the process. There had to be a better way. And so it was – Body Shop Bids was born.
BodyShopBids was founded in 2010 with the goal of making this painful process simpler. No one should have to drive around from body shop to body shop and receive completely different estimates for the same repair.
With BodyShopBids, the painful process I went through back in 2005 is no longer necessary. Through our platform, users can now easily upload photos of minor dents, scratches and body damage from the comfort of their home or office and sit back and watch local body shops compete for their business.
I hope you enjoy using the website, and please let me know if there is anything at all I can do to make the process as painless as possible (Red Lobster not included!).
